What Is Considered a Dental Emergency?

The following are examples of the most common dental emergencies:

Severe Tooth Pain: Severe tooth pain may result from trauma or infection. It's important to seek immediate care.
A Broken, Chipped, or Fractured Tooth: A tooth fracture that extends to the inner pulp can cause complications, including pain and infection. Make sure to contact us for urgent care.
A Knocked-Out Tooth: Pick up the affected tooth by its crown and try to return it to its socket. If that’s not possible, carry it in some milk and call us for urgent care.
A Loose or Dislodged Tooth: Bite down on a piece of clean gauze or cloth to keep the tooth in place. Contact us for immediate care.
A Tooth Infection or Abscess: A tooth infection can be serious and pose a risk to your health. If you have a pimple-like bump on the gums, pain, swelling, or other signs of infection, make sure to contact us immediately.

Thorough Evaluation: Once you are comfortable, we will conduct a comprehensive exam to evaluate your unique needs. We may also take digital dental X-rays to assess the extent of damage.
Customized Treatment: We will work with you to create a treatment plan to address your urgent dental needs. It may include antibiotics to combat infection, root canal therapy to save a damaged tooth, a splint to stabilize a dislodged tooth, or tooth extraction if a tooth is beyond repair. Please note that complete treatment may require multiple visits in some cases.
